How do I pick a random comment on YouTube?

Paste your video's link above and press Find comments. Press Read all comments so every entry counts, set any rules you need (keyword, deadline, one entry per person), then press Pick a random winner. The winner's name, comment and a link to it appear right away.

Is the draw really random?

Yes. Winners are drawn with your browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) using rejection sampling, so every eligible entry has exactly the same chance, and nobody is picked twice in one draw.

Do you check whether people liked the video or subscribed?

No. We don't check likes or subscriptions, and there is no option to require them. YouTube doesn't let apps see who liked a video, and its contest policies don't allow giveaways that ask for likes or subscriptions in exchange for an entry.

Is the YouTube comment picker free?

Yes. Without an account you can open 3 videos a day and pick 1 winner per draw from the newest 1,000 comments. The free result image has a TubeKit watermark. Subscribers pick up to 20 winners plus alternates and download the image without a watermark.

Can I use it on a video with thousands of comments?

Yes. The newest 1,000 comments load for free. To include every comment in the draw, sign in and use credits: 1 credit per 200 comments.

What if someone comments many times?

Keep One entry per person turned on. Each channel then counts once, using its earliest comment that matches your rules, so posting more comments doesn't raise anyone's chance.

Are replies included?

Not yet. Only top-level comments take part. Replies to other comments are not counted as entries.

Is TubeKit connected to YouTube?

No. TubeKit is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. You run your own giveaway and provide the prize, and it must follow YouTube's contest policies and Community Guidelines. To look through or export the comments instead, use the Comment Finder or the Comment Downloader.

Before you run a giveaway

You, the creator, run the giveaway and provide the prize; TubeKit only helps you pick at random. YouTube's contest policies ask every giveaway on the platform to follow a few rules:

Entry is free. Nobody has to pay or buy anything to take part.
Publish Official Rules that say YouTube is not a sponsor of the giveaway and that entrants release YouTube from any liability.
Link to YouTube's Community Guidelines in your rules, and make sure the giveaway itself follows them.
Add a privacy notice that explains what you do with entrants' information, such as how you contact the winner.
Don't ask for views, likes, subscriptions or other metrics in exchange for an entry.

A YouTube giveaway picker you can show your audience

Viewers want to know the giveaway wasn't rigged. This random comment picker draws with your browser's cryptographic random generator and writes down exactly how each draw was made.

Truly random: Winners are drawn with crypto.getRandomValues, without bias and without picking the same entry twice.
Simple, fair rules: Require a keyword, leave out words, set a deadline, keep one entry per person, and leave out your own comments or anyone you name.
Shareable result image: Download a PNG with the winners, the number of entries, the rules you used and the time of the draw.
Drawn in your browser: The draw happens on your device, and we don't store the entries or the winners. Public comments are cached on our servers for up to an hour so repeat reads load faster.
Several winners and alternates: Subscribers pick up to 20 different winners in one draw, plus alternates in order in case a winner doesn't reply.
Big videos too: The newest 1,000 comments are free. To read all of a video with tens of thousands of comments, use credits: 1 credit per 200 comments.
