What people put into NotebookLM
Long videos are hard to search and slow to rewatch. Once a playlist is in a notebook, you can ask questions across all of it and get answers with the exact video cited.
- Online courses
- Add every lecture of a YouTube course, then ask for a study guide, a summary of lesson 7 or a list of every term the teacher defined. Handy right before an exam.
- Interview and podcast series
- Load a season of interviews and ask what each guest said about a topic, or where two guests disagree, without listening to 40 hours of audio again.
- Conference talks and recorded meetings
- Many events and teams publish talks and meeting recordings as a playlist. Turn them into a notebook and find the one talk that covered the question you have now.
- Tutorial series
- Coding, design and cooking channels often teach across dozens of videos. Ask NotebookLM which episode showed a step, and it points you to the right video.
TubeKit vs other ways to add YouTube videos
NotebookLM only takes single video links, so any whole playlist needs some help. Here is how the usual options compare.
| Compare | TubeKit | One link at a time | Browser extension |
|---|---|---|---|
| Playlist or channel link | Yes, every video is listed for you. | No. You copy each video's link yourself. | Usually, from inside YouTube. |
| Adding 50 videos | One copy and one paste per batch. | 50 separate copies and pastes. | A few clicks. |
| Install | Nothing. | Nothing. | An extension that can read the pages you visit. |
| Devices | Any browser, including phones and tablets. | Any browser. | Desktop browsers that support the extension. |
| Problem videos | Deleted, private and live videos are left out before you paste. | You find out when the import fails. | Depends on the extension. |
Faster than adding YouTube videos to NotebookLM one by one
NotebookLM accepts several links at once, but it can't read a playlist link. TubeKit fills that gap.
- Ready-made batches
- Links are split to fit NotebookLM's source limit, so every paste goes through.
- Problem videos left out
- Deleted, private and live videos are removed before you paste, so they don't waste a source.
- A playlist outline
- One extra source with the title, order and length of every video, so answers can follow the course.
- No extension needed
- Works in any browser, on any device. Nothing to install and no sign-in.
