  3. 3

    Copy what you need

Copy the whole description with its line breaks, or just the links, hashtags or timestamps.

What the description extractor shows

On YouTube the description hides behind …more, and copying it on a phone is fiddly. Here it is in full, split into the parts you need.

The full description
Every line, exactly as the creator wrote it, with a character and word count against YouTube's 5,000-character limit.
Every link, pulled out
Sponsor, affiliate and social links in one list, ready to open or copy.
Hashtags and chapters
See the hashtags and every timestamp, and whether they meet YouTube's rules for chapters.
Free, no sign-in
No account, no extension. Works on desktop and phone, for videos, Shorts and channels.

What people use a description extractor for

A description holds more than a summary: links, chapters and the keywords a creator chose.

Study top videos
See how the best videos on your topic open their descriptions, which keywords they use and how long they run.
Reuse your own template
Copy the description of an older upload, links and all, as a starting point for the next one.
Collect links
Grab the resources, sponsor or affiliate links mentioned in a video without scrolling through the text.
Take notes from a course
Copy the chapter list of a long tutorial into your notes, with a link to each part.

How to write a better description

The description helps viewers and YouTube understand the video. A few habits go a long way.

Lead with the point
Say what the video is about in the first sentence, using the words people search for.
Add chapters
List timestamps from 0:00 so viewers can jump to the part they want.
Keep hashtags few and relevant
Two or three hashtags that match the video are enough. Unrelated ones can count as misleading.
Put links where they're seen
Add the most important link near the top, before …more cuts the text off.
